Zhengzhou Daily Orders New Goss Universal press

Press release from the issuing company

Zhengzhou Daily, a major newspaper publisher in central China, has ordered a new 75,000-copies-per-hour Goss Universal press to improve its color capacity.

Located in Zhengzhou, the capital city of Henan Province, Zhengzhou Daily has been one of the most prestigious newspaper media companies in the region. Besides its flagship title Zhengzhou Daily, the company also publishes Zhengzhou Evening News, Evening News Readers Digest and its online media www.zynews.com.

The new Goss press will include 16 shaftless Universal printing units, two jaw folders and five reelstands. Rated at a maximum of 75,000 cph, the press will not only generate higher productivity and more color pages, but also allow the Zhengzhou Daily printing facility to handle more contract print jobs. Currently over 20 different national newspaper titles are printed there, including the Economic Daily, China TV and more.

This will be the second Goss Universal press at Zhengzhou Daily's printing plant. Since the first eight-unit Universal press was installed in 1999, Zhengzhou Daily has become a full-color 12-page broadsheet daily newspaper. Its sister paper Zhengzhou Evening News was rated among the highest quality newspapers in China. Focused on local news stories and interesting topics, Zhengzhou Evening News has emerged as part of the daily life of local citizens and sustains the highest circulation in the city.

"As a leading newspaper company in the region, we realize that the best newspaper journalism will lose its impact without high print quality," explains Mrs. Huang, vice president of Zhengzhou Daily. "We have benefited from the high performance of our first Universal press, as well as the dedicated and experienced Goss International sales and service team. Going through a comprehensive bidding process, the Universal press became an obvious champion among the other competing brands in both technology level and business value. We look forward to a new level of technology and productivity with this new addition to our press family."
