KPG Launches Color RIP Software Upgrade for Matchprint Inkjet Systems

Norwalk, Connecticut, USA -- July 26, 2002 -- Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) announced the availability of Kodak Polychrome Graphics Matchprint Color RIP v2.5 software for large-format inkjet printers. This new software offers several functional improvements over previous versions including Scitex CT/LW and JPEG file capability, new color space support for RGB and LAB files, and printer support for the HP DesignJet 10/20/50 PS series. Matchprint Color RIP v2.5 is next generation software for the Matchprint Inkjet System, a high-quality, inkjet proofing solution that delivers accurate simulation of Matchprint Analog proofs, an industry standard for accurate color prediction. "Matchprint Color RIP v2.5 addresses our customer’s desire for expanded application and color control," said Rob Pipe, Product Manager, Worldwide Contone Hardware/Media, KPG. "This latest version benefits our customers by providing them with superior color proofing capabilities, additional output options for posters and display materials, and increased productivity tools to save valuable time." In addition to Scitex CT/LW and JPEG file capability and new color space support for RGB and LAB profiles, the Matchprint Color RIP v2.5 gets a Drag and Drop Interface and Selectable Job Priority function--two features that simplify and speed-up job workflow. KPG also added expanded functionality to the software with improvements to cropping and tiling production tools. Other features added to the Matchprint Color RIP v2.5 include improved nesting, a color managed print preview using ICC profiles, a new color profile database and expanded external measurement device support.
