Printcafe Shows New PrintFlow, PrinterSite Internal & Logic Upgrade at Conference

Press release from the issuing company

PITTSBURGH, PA (July 18, 2002) – Printcafe Software, Inc. [NASDAQ: PCAF], the operating system for print, today announced a positive response from customers to its new add-on modules and print management system upgrades at Printcafe’s Connect 2002 annual users conference which was held from June 6th to 9th in Las Vegas. With more than 900 customers, partners and Printcafe staff in attendance, Printcafe demonstrated its new add-on modules and print management system upgrades, many of which were shown to customers for the first time. Attendees at the conference responded positively to Printcafe's new PrintFlow dynamic scheduling add-on module, its new PrinterSite Internal web solution and the new cross-platform version of Printcafe's Auto-Count direct machine interface, along with the SQL upgrade to its Logic print management system. PrintFlow is an advanced, dynamic scheduling add-on module. It incorporates proprietary algorithms to optimize print production schedules in a smart, user-friendly manner. The product completed Beta testing earlier this year and is now in general release. "PrintFlow is an amazing new technology," said Doug Ehmann, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of The Sheridan Group, a large publication printer. "It’s fast and can consider many more constraints and options than is humanly possible. We investigated other technologies to help us with scheduling, but none could manage in real-time our complex and critical processes." "The value of PrintFlow in optimizing our entire plant has been critical to our continued growth," said Brian Twilley, CEO of Atlantic and Hastings, a leading commercial printer. Printcafe also unveiled for customers the Beta version of its new PrinterSite Internal web solution at the users’ conference. PrinterSite Internal, which is scheduled for general release in August 2002, automates the administrative functions of a printer’s sales force by providing an easy way to share specification and quote information with the printer’s back office over the web. "We’re very pleased with the response we’re receiving to all of our new products." said Marc Olin, CEO of Printcafe. "Our print management systems provide a platform to which we are adding functionality to help our customers increase profit by enhancing sales and driving production efficiencies."
