Toshiba Goes Live With Interwoven Enterprise Content Management

Press release from the issuing company

Interwoven's Solution Allows Toshiba America to Easily Manage Thousands of Office Documents Throughout the Enterprise SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 21 - Interwoven, Inc., the leader in Enterprise Content Management, today announced that Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. (TABS) is using Interwoven to manage all enterprise content, including thousands of office documents, on three of their online properties. Sites that have gone live include the vendor-specific, award winning extranet, http://fyi.toshiba.com , their domestic and international public sites, www.copiers.toshiba.com, as well as a special site used for externally facing online marketing campaigns. "Publishing office documents, which is 95% of our enterprise content, is critical for TABS, and Interwoven allows us to easily update our externally-facing Website and extranet initiatives; it also functions as the distribution source for all corporate marketing campaigns,'' said Denise Fishel, director, eBusiness Planning and Development, eBusiness Technology Group at Toshiba America Business Solutions. "Interwoven gives us the ability to easily and quickly communicate with all constituencies throughout the U.S., Latin and South America. With Interwoven, TABS realized an immediate return on investment of $300K in outsourced development and content management -- and with these kinds of up-front results, we anticipate even more significant savings going forward.'' Previous to the Interwoven implementation, TABS' knowledge workers stored and maintained all documents on their local drive and then sent site change requests to a third party vendor who would create new Web pages as needed. Not only was this costly, but it was also a very labor and time intensive process. A new product page would take two weeks to be created. With Interwoven's product suite, the same page can now be created in a day. As a result of bringing online asset creation in house, the majority of which were business documents, Toshiba America has been able to streamline their corporate communications and therefore improve employee, vendor and customer relationships while having a central repository for all online content. "TABS' use of Interwoven's enterprise content management solutions underscores it's ability to manage and distribute timely and accurate enterprise content, resulting in time and cost savings as well as improved CRM for both internal and external constituencies,'' said Jack Jia, CTO of Interwoven. "Only Interwoven's product suite enables the capture and sharing of any type of enterprise content -including office documents -- and makes it available to users enterprise-wide.''
