Wallace Acquires Thomas Packaging Corporation

LISLE, Ill.--March 20, 2002--Wallace today announced that it has acquired Thomas Packaging Corporation, an Avon Lake, Ohio manufacturer of regulatory labels and inserts as well as prime labels. This acquisition expands Wallace's product and service mix for producers and distributors of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, animal health products, over-the-counter drugs, agrochemical, and specialty chemical products. "This will give customers of both Wallace and Thomas Packaging access to a broader array of products and services.'' "Thomas Packaging has earned a reputation for outstanding quality and a focus on customer service that matches well with Wallace's culture,'' said M. David Jones, Wallace's Chief Executive Officer. "Thomas Packaging's expertise in producing regulatory labels and inserts also gives us added leverage in this important market.'' "Thomas Packaging has been recognized for its strict compliance to CGMP processes,'' said Richter, "which demonstrates that its processes meet the demanding requirements of these regulated markets.'' Thomas Packaging's 2001 sales were $6.4 million. The company was founded in Ohio in 1983 and has 62 employees.
