Xaar to Host Digital Printing for Packaging Seminars at IPEX

Press release from the issuing company

March 19, 2002 -- Xaar plc will be hosting a series of short seminars at IPEX 2002 aimed at heightening the awareness amongst the flexographic, converting and packaging printers of the capabilities and benefits of digital print solutions. The seminars will outline ways in which these technologies can be integrated into their existing printing processes to enable greater personalisation and customisation whilst at the same time maintaining ongoing production efficiencies. Xaar’s IPEX seminars will be supported by the experience and expertise of a number of specialist industry partners committed to providing specific knowledge and advice to printers who are considering integrating digital solutions into production workflows. These include SunJet, a division of Sun Chemical, the world’s leading supplier of inks for print and graphics, The Technology Partnership, Europe’s leading independent printer and systems developer, and Yminds, the Swiss-based engineering and information technology solution providers. "We are aware that many printers in the flexographic, converting and packaging sectors may not be fully up to date with all the capabilities and significant benefits that digital printing solutions such as inkjet technology can offer them," said Jan Fineman Chief Executive at Xaar. "We therefore have a duty to ensure that printers are aware of the options available to them, so that they can respond quickly and more flexibly to their ever increasing customer demands. We hope that the information and discussions stimulated by our seminars, coupled with our new Integration & Consulting Program which we will be launching at IPEX, will enable them to realise these opportunities and add value both to their own business and their customers’ businesses." The seminar programme will include presentations on:- - Digital printing for packaging: An overview of the trends, opportunities and limitations of digital printing in the packaging environment - Greyscale – the new technology breakthrough: A review of how Xaar’s new greyscale inkjet technology can help you to meet and anticipate the demands of your customers - Critical factors for success: Key customer requirements for the successful integration of digital printing into the flexographic, converting and packaging processes - The right chemistry: A review of ink and chemistry-related issues and solutions - Integrating the solution: An overview of how to integrate digital technologies into existing processes John Law, General Manager at SunJet comments "These seminars are an excellent concept, letting IPEX visitors select whatever is most relevant to their own ideas. Anyone looking to exploit the emerging markets and opportunities of inkjet needs to be aware of the technological developments as well as how these may benefit their own business. The program will set this out very clearly throughout the exhibition." The seminars will be held on the Xaar stand (hall 19, stand no. 329) running between 10:00 and 11:30 and again from 14:00 to 15:30 each weekday.
