Oce Transforms Repro Department into Document Production Centre

Press release from the issuing company

Venlo, The Netherlands, March 13, 2002 — Oce announces a new Document Production Centre concept that transforms the CRD into a department that manages an organisation’s document processes—from job submission to production to distribution. It starts with Oce Business Services, which analyse and help customise an organisation’s document workflow to design the right solution. Oce Doc Works software connects users directly to the Document Production Centre (DPC) - facilitating, monitoring, and reporting document processes. Printing systems such as the Oce DPS400 deliver production power to the document workflow. Add-on finishing devices heighten document quality, while archiving solutions can network documents throughout an organisation. Bringing the work back to the document specialists Central Reproduction Departments (CRD) face several challenges. Pressure to digitise. Demands for faster turnarounds and full equipment productivity. Providing the best document quality to customers. Volume loss because of decentralised printing. Taking these factors into account, Oce’s Document Production Centre concept networks the DPC to office users, so they can concentrate more on their jobs, instead of waiting in printing queues or printing large jobs themselves. DPC printing volumes are managed efficiently as jobs are easily directed to this department’s better-suited high-volume systems. Add-on finishing devices provide the best document quality, and archiving capabilities add value to the DPC.
