Press release from the issuing company

NEW YORK, NY (March 5, 2002) - Christopher J. Nolan has joined Magazine Publishers of America (MPA) in the newly created position of Vice President/General Counsel. The announcement was made today by Michael Pashby, Executive Vice President/General Manager, MPA. Most recently, Mr. Nolan was at Time Inc. where he was Assistant General Counsel since 1994 representing Sports Illustrated and Warner Publisher Services. "Due to the increased volume of business at the MPA requiring legal counsel, we elected to add a full-time person," said Mr. Pashby. "Christopher's broad knowledge of the magazine industry and his extensive experience in anti-trust matters, copyright and First Amendment issues make him the ideal person for the job." Prior to joining Time Inc., Mr. Nolan was Assistant General Counsel for Times Mirror Company from 1992. He was a Litigation Associate for Townley & Updike from 1988 until 1992. Admitted to practice in New York state and federal courts and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, Mr. Nolan is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the American Corporate Counsel Association. Mr. Nolan graduated from University of Pennsylvania Law School, and received a B.A. with Honors from Swarthmore College, where he was captain of the men's varsity baseball team.
