PrintPlanet NewProof Forum Launched In Partnership With RealTimeImage

Press release from the issuing company

Solana Beach , CA - March 5, 2002 - Printable Technologies, the leading online software provider for the graphic arts industry, has launched PrintPlanet's NewProof Forum ([email protected]) in partnership with RealTimeImage, the leading innovator and developer of Internet-based imaging products and services for the Graphic Arts Community. NewProof Forum provides a new, open independent web forum on the newest soft and remote proofing technologies and industry applications. Through the forum, NewProof subscribers can learn about, discuss and debate proofing software, services, techniques and methodologies as well as equipment, networking, cultural issues and business practices involving applications for soft proofing and remote proofing. Dave Mainwaring, managing director of PrintPlanet is moderator of the forum. Mr. Mainwaring notes that early soft and remote proofing applications in the graphic arts industry were costly and complicated. "Today's technology," he says, "has made both applications readily available and affordable with high-quality proofing systems, calibrated displays, broadband Internet and wide area network connections. The NewProof Forum enables members to access one another's experience, explore the new opportunities that these applications can offer, and air their concerns about committing the future of their companies to the new technologies." Zvi Eintracht, president of RealTimeImage, Inc., said, "We are very enthusiastic about our partnership with Printable to launch and support PrintPlanet's NewProof Forum. We believe NewProof Forum will quickly become an extremely valuable industry resource as a sounding board for decision-making management in all sectors of the graphics business. The forum now can provide open access to an ongoing interchange of timely, objective information about the industry's most important new advances in soft and remote proofing technology." Chuck Gehman, executive vice president and CTO of Printable, says, "PrintPlanet is excited to have this opportunity to partner with RealTimeImage in providing NewProof Forum to the industry. Soft and remote proofing are fast-growing applications that offer tremendous benefits for the graphics industry, and the forum will be an important new and reliable information resource for both experienced and potential users of the technology." NewProof Forum members will have a platform to pursue answers to their soft and remote proofing questions such as:    · What is possible with today's technology?    · What are others doing in the field?    · What are the key issues?    · Do clients want the applications, or is it all service provider-driven?    · Are soft- and remote-proofing analogous to video conferencing?    · Will their use be limited only to the very high end market?    · Can they achieve the widespread adoption that many companies count on? Qualified members of NetProof Forum will represent virtually every segment of the industry's supply chain. In addition to printers, they will include corporate content creators, designers, brand managers, agency account executives, production personnel, service bureaus and trade shops. Their interests will span the entire proofing spectrum - content proofs, color proofs, imposition proofs, galleys as well as many other types of proofs.
