Former Tripp Exec, Marc Welch Joins Pitman Northeast

TOTOWA, NJ, March 4, 2002 — Pitman Company, the leading North American graphic arts supplier, has announced the appointment of Marc Welch as Electronics Specialist in the company's Northeast Region. Mr. Welch provides Pitman's customers in the six New England states with advanced consultative support in workflow planning and in the selection of systems that best serve their operating needs. He is based in Pitman's Taunton, Massachusetts branch headquarters, and reports directly to Kevin McCarthy, Northeast Region Branch Manager. Mr. McCarthy noted, "Marc has tremendous expertise in the newest graphic arts technologies and solid experience in integrating them into highly productive workflows for both printing and packaging production environments. He represents a valuable asset for our customers who rely on the Pitman team for independent support in determining the equipment and products that are best for their operations." Mr. Welch brings 35 years of experience in the graphics industry to his Pitman post, spanning 15 years with advanced technology companies and 20 years with printing firms. He joined Pitman following four years as Director of Electronic Sales for the Tripp Company. He previously had been Vice President of Marketing for American Color. Earlier, he had been Director of Printing Industry Marketing of Scitex for nine years. During his tenure with Scitex, he was the technology company's primary liaison with the printing industry, representing it at major industry events, interfacing with the Scitex users group and helping to chart the company's product development strategy. Prior to his graphic arts career, Mr. Welch had been a chemical engineering major at Brigham Young University.
