MAN Roland at CeBIT: To Show DICOpress & Content Management Solutions

Press release from the issuing company

March 4, 2002 - MAN Roland is making its first appearance at CeBIT, networking its DICOpress to a number of content management and Internet connectivity solutions, designed to make the most of the press’ versioning and one-to-one printing capabilities. DICOpress provides high performance computer-to-press capabilities at an affordable price, giving printers a cost-effective way to handle on-demand, variable data and short-run color projects. The system runs at the rate of 138 letter size impressions per minute. That equates to the production of 8,280 pages per hour — a speed that leads this digital color category. Under the banner "Digital Changeover," the DICOpress demonstration at CeBIT will show how the press can handle all the marketing communications requirements of a large travel agency, using such techniques as versioning, one-to-one printing and on-line print ordering. Content management will be expedited by the OPAS-G system developed by Germany’s OKS Software. Meanwhile, the iWay family of solutions from Systematics AG will facilitate Internet ordering and connectivity. Web-fed, DICOpress is available in both 12 1/2" and 20" web widths, and features variable cutoffs to produce a wide variety of printed products. It utilizes built-in color management routines, and its laser-based imaging system ensures the precise placement of every dot. To speed production, all output is immediately ready for finishing or further conversion, as it comes off the press. CeBIT will be held in Hanover, Germany, March 13-20. The MAN Roland exhibit, which is presented in cooperation with CLC Nord, will be located in Hall 1, Booth 2b14.
