Adobe Launches Xchange Web Site for Designers and Developers

Press release from the issuing company

SAN JOSE, Calif.--Feb. 28, 2002--Adobe today launched Adobe Xchange, a unique community Web site where Adobe product users and content developers can share thousands of easy-to-install add-ons for Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, GoLive, LiveMotion(TM) and Atmosphere(TM). Adobe Xchange is a free Web site for the Adobe design and developer community to download and upload extensions that will increase the value and functionality of their Adobe software. Members will discover thousands of third party created time-saving extensions, JavaScripts, and other functional content such as new filters for Photoshop and brushes for Illustrator. Without having to buy additional software, Adobe Xchange users can choose extensions and helper files to assist them in solving tricky design problems. Adobe software, already ideal for designers and developers because of the tight integration between products, can become even easier to use with add-ons that further reinforce the strength of an Adobe software workflow. Adobe Xchange already holds more than 4,000 files contributed by more than 180,000 members, and is part of Adobe Studio(TM), the recently launched Web resource for users to learn tips and tricks and share ideas with other members of the design community. Alongside Adobe DesignTeam, a subscription-based collaboration service, Adobe Xchange is the third Web-based resource Adobe offers the design community to help foster creativity. "Adobe Xchange is the free, one-stop resource for designers and developers who are looking to keep their content fresh and up to date,'' said Tanya Wendling, senior director of Adobe.com for Adobe. "It provides members the tools to increase the usability and value of their Adobe software and makes it easy to share them across the whole design community.''
