Tensor Group's Enters into Romania Market

Press release from the issuing company

WOODRIDGE, IL -- Tensor Group, Inc., a premier U.S. manufacturer of single-width web offset press equipment, has been granted the contract to provide two Tensor T-1400 series 4-high towers to Media Pro Group, a prominent Romanian newspaper, print and entertainment media company. The towers were sold through VIP-Systems Graphische Maschinen GmbH, Tensor's agent headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany.

The Tensor press equipment will be installed in two separate locations of Media Pro Group's facilities; one tower at Compania de Productie Tipografica in the city of Cluj and the other tower at Coprint in Timisoara. The two Romanian cities are ideally located for print and distribution of the major newspaper national dailies, ProSport, Ziarul Financiar from Publimedia International Evenimentul Zilei, Libertatea from RINGIER, Jurnalul National, Financiarul from Editura INTACT and Business Standard from CATAVENCU. Both of the facilities also print a number of regional and local newspaper dailies, weeklies and monthlies.

The new Tensor towers will be added onto existing Heidelberg Harris presses and will be driven by a footprint shaftless drive system with control consoles and motors provided by DCOS of Sweden. EPG remote inking system and AutoSet/AutoPage touchscreen controls are integrated into each of the new press consoles.

The additional tower at each Romanian site (with a 630 mm size cutoff and 1000mm web width) adds four colors and additional pages to produce varied sizes of multiple tabloid newspaper formats at speeds to 35,000 iph/hour.

The towers feature the labor and waste saving package that provides motorized sidelay and circumferential and motorized ink fountain rollers. The T-1400 units are nicely equipped with spiral brush dampeners, insulated water trays, swing down cast iron ink fountains and EPG controls with 28 keys per fountain.

VIP-Systems Graphische Maschinen GmbH will continue to support Media Pro Group and its subsidiary companies with future Tensor requirements.
