MAN Roland Spins Off Certain Marketing Functions, Forms Graphic Arts PR Firm

Press release from the issuing company

February 11, 2002 - Symbiotix, a new marketing agency for the printing industry and related businesses, has opened its doors in Offenbach. The new company was set up following a decision made by MAN Roland to concentrate on its core areas of marketing competence on the one hand, and to outsource the marketing services being carried out at its Offenbach location on the other. MAN Roland holds a fifty-percent stake in Symbiotix. When asked about the purpose of the new agency, co-founder and managing director Karl-Heinz Dobert, who brings many years of experience with MAN Roland to the new company, replied: “We regard ourselves as a specialist agency for the graphic industry, from the machine manufacturer through to the printing house“. Symbiotix offers its clients a certain range of marketing services in the sector of market research, trade fairs, events, trade-press releases, and the production of promotional materials such as sales bulletins and product brochures. Core functions such as corporate communications, the coordination of all press activities, sales-network communication, product marketing, as well as the conception and planning of marketing strategies remain firmly anchored within MAN Roland, with the usual contact partners. The majority of the twelve staff currently employed by the new company switched directly from MAN Roland’s marketing department following an agreement made with the printer manufacturer. “We therefore have an extraordinarily experienced team right from the out-set”, explains Dobert. “Other companies in the graphic industry will also be able to profit from our experience“. According to Dobert, even medium-sized companies are becoming increasingly aware of the need for professional marketing and professional internal and external communication.
