TruTech: New Envelope Provides Safeguard Against Mail Contamination

Press release from the issuing company

PostGuard Enables Inspection of Envelopes While They Are Sealed February 11, 2002 - Tru•Tech, a division of Inland Paperboard and Packaging, Inc., is pleased to announce a new addition to its line of durable, tear-resistant materials — PostGuard. PostGuard is a new lightweight, translucent material that provides increased durability for envelopes and added security for those who must handle or receive mail correspondence. PostGuard envelopes feature a revolutionary see-through design to help safeguard postal workers and home dwellers against mail contamination by enabling inspection of envelopes while they remain sealed. At the same time, PostGuard envelopes feature tear, puncture and moisture resistant properties to enhance durability. In addition, PostGuard envelopes are lighter weight than conventional envelopes, which reduces mailing costs. PostGuard envelopes also can be customized to include sift-resistant closures. The closures may include gum seal, zip strip and cohesive. Plus, PostGuard envelopes are approved for high-speed insertion, sortation and processing. "No other translucent envelope matches the efficiency and effectiveness of PostGuard," said Ken Myers, business development manager for Tension Envelope Corporation. While PostGuard envelopes are currently available for purchase, Tru•Tech is continuing to research and test additional safety enhancing features that could help prevent mold, bacteria and mildew from being spread by mail correspondence. An enhanced PostGuard product will be introduced to the market upon completion of quality assurance testing. "We believe durability, printability, sealability and contamination resistance will make the PostGuard envelope clearly superior to traditional paper envelopes," said Tom Santelli, national sales and marketing manager for Tru•Tech.
