Nine Xerox Digital Systems Picked by Better Buys for Business

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y.--Feb. 7, 2002--Nine Xerox digital color copier/printers, digital multifunction systems and network printers captured top honors with an Editor's Choice Award for 2002 from Better Buys for Business magazine. The Editor's Choice awards are an independent endorsement of the products' quality and value and a testament to the company's ability to help people work better in both office and graphic arts environments. An authority on document imaging equipment, Better Buys for Business recognized the Xerox DocuColor 12 and DocuColor 40 digital color copier/printers; the Document Centre 460, 470 and 480 digital multifunction systems; the Phaser 860 and Phaser 7700 color printers; and the Phaser 5400 and the DocuPrint N4525 laser printers. Each award is given to equipment that delivers the highest levels of performance and offers the greatest value for consumers in a given price range. "Clearly, Xerox excels in both the office and production printing environments, setting the benchmark for high quality, affordable products,'' said Jonathan Bees, editor-in-chief, Better Buys for Business. The DocuColor 12, which received the Editor's Choice award in the midrange color copiers category of the Better Buys for Business annual "Color Copier Guide,'' produces 12.5 full-color pages and 50 black-and-white pages per minute. The DocuColor 40 produces 40 full-color pages per minute and was selected in the high-speed/production-level color copiers category. The two products -- designed for professionals in the graphic arts environment such as creative houses, quick printers, commercial printers and in-plant corporate reprographics departments -- are widely used to produce color applications such as manuals, brochures and short-run, on-demand jobs -- and have won Editor's Choice designations for three consecutive years. The three Xerox Document Centre products combine printing, copying, scanning and faxing and offer print speeds of 55, 65 and 75 pages per minute, helping office workers be more efficient and productive. Unlike competitive products, each Document Centre features the same user interface and consistent functionality and connectivity options. This makes it easier for customers to integrate and operate multiple products across an enterprise. The models received Editor's Choice Awards in Better Buys for Business annual "High-Volume Copier & Multifunctional Guide.'' Awards also went to Xerox's network printers in the Phaser and DocuPrint product lines. The Phaser 860 and Phaser 7700 color printers were presented Editor's Choice awards in the 2002 "Color Laser Printer Guide,'' in the category of Quality Models for Office/Graphics Use. The Phaser 5400 and DocuPrint N4525 laser printers were presented Editor's Choice awards in the 2002 "Mid-Volume Printer Guide.''
