HAPSCO In-Plant Receives NAPL Management Award

(*International Publishing Management Association) February 4, 2002 - HAPSCO Printing and Graphics Services, an affiliate of The Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania, has been recognized for management excellence by the National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL). HAPSCO received NAPL's Merit Award in the 2001 Management Plus Awards program. Only 11 companies were chosen for Merit awards from the industry firms that participated in the competition, which is open to all graphic arts organizations. "HAPSCO is pleased to be recognized in this competitive award program," said Liz Messner, senior director at HAPSCO. "While customer satisfaction is paramount, it is always gratifying to be recognized by those within your industry." Management excellence is based on how performance levels in select categories compare to industry standards and to competitors of similar size and characteristics. Contest entrants are judged in nine areas: internal control systems; financial performance; marketing/sales plan; business planning; human resources; environmental/safety concerns; quality control; community/industry affairs and vendor relations. NAPL is a not-for-profit trade association representing the $86 billion commercial printing industry.
