IPMA: Steve Tschida Attains CGCM Credential

Press release from the issuing company

Liberty, Missouri - Steve Tschida, production coordinator at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Minnesota has earned the credential of Certified Graphic Communications Manager (CGCM) from the International Publishing Management Association (IPMA). Actively involved in the in-plant industry since 1973, Tschida joined IPMA in 1988. “I quickly learned what a terrific organization it is and continue to be a staunch supporter.” He has served as the Twin Cities Chapter President for two years and holds an Associate Degree in Graphic Arts from St. Paul Technical College in Minnesota. “When I learned that I had passed the CGCM exam,” Tschida says, “I felt like I had just pitched a no hitter.” Colleagues continue to ask if the recently-revised test is difficult. “The answer is, yes! Is it worth it? Yes! Would I take it again? Definitely! Did I find it to be a good barometer of my skill base? Absolutely!” Above all, he emphasizes, “If I can do it, so can you. When you succeed, you won’t believe how good you feel about yourself!” IPMA’s CGCM program, instituted in 1976, encourages professional growth and emphasizes the knowledge and technical expertise required to excel in the rapidly advancing field of corporate publishing. It also serves to identify a select group of managers within the industry who have attained a recognizable level of competence. Tests are administered at IPMA’s annual conference, all fall regional conferences and upon special arrangement with IPMA headquarters. Specific information on dates and sites can be obtained from IPMA headquarters.
