Simple Workflow From Screen: Version 2.0 of Web-Based PDF Trueflow Debuts

Press release from the issuing company

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL. – Trueflow, the anytime, any place, any platform workflow solution from Screen (USA), has taken on a more prominent role since the introduction of "Power CTP". Linking the PlateRite series of thermal CTP platesetters with Trueflow’s newest 2.0 version combines to give customers the most advanced digital workflow solution available, says Mike Fox, Screen (USA) vice president of sales. "Being the world’s first web-browser operated PDF workflow solution was a significant achievement for Screen," said Fox. "Being the best workflow solution available is what’s important now. We believe that when you take standard features such as automatic job processing and tie it with advanced enhancements for PDF 1.4, you get the best of both worlds. That’s why Trueflow makes an excellent choice for those needing a reliable and proven job ticket workflow solution." Trueflow integrates the latest Adobe PDF interpreter core RIP for a more stable and functional workflow, and is the industry’s only 100 percent web-browser software. Version 2.0 provides PDF 1.4 support in addition to processing PDF 1.3 and PostScript 3 files. Trueflow’s tremendous flexibility was already enviable, as was its preflight checking and automatic trapping features. Optional features such as Job Definition Format (JDF) and imposition software Flatworker 4.0, help improve the advancement of prepress integration. "Our newest version of Trueflow can generate JDF data as options. Screen is a member of the CIP4 organization and we will continue to work with others in the industry to develop better prepress, press and postpress integrated solutions. That’s why we are excited about CIP4’s XML-based JDF and its use with Trueflow 2.0," explained Fox. "We think it’s important to have the ability to output an imposed outline EPS file for proofing and other purposes such as importing CAD files for packaging printing. Trueflow does this and so much more." Trueflow’s TrapEditor software is another breakthrough element Screen is proud of. It allows for quick and easy control of detailed trap settings and runs on a separate Windows NT platform. It is the only workflow solution that can trap multiple text sizes and supports image-to-image trapping. Trueflow can process up to four different output formats including RIP’ed PDF, RIP’ed PS, Outline EPS, Outline PDF, normal PDF, one-bit TIFF, TIFF-IT, TIFF, DCS2 and PJTF. "Our in-RIP trapping and OPI are unparalleled. Problem files such as grayscale spot color TIFFs and Illustrator spot color vignettes are no longer trouble with our state-of-the-art PDF core," concluded Fox. "We also color map Pantone CVC to CV while converting RGB to CMYK automatically. Best of all, Trueflow 2.0 can be accessed on as many Mac or PC’s as you wish without paying additional license fees." Screen (USA) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dainippon Screen Manufacturing Co. Ltd. of Japan, the world's largest provider of prepress equipment and systems.
