IBM Adds New Color Workgroup Printers To Infoprint 1000 Family

IBM Infoprint Color 1220 And 1228 Provide Enterprises With High Speed And Competitive Performance Features Such As Internet-Ready Color Capabilities, Finishing Options And Industry's Highest Input Capacity BOULDER, CO--Jan 29, 2002 -- IBM today announced the addition of two new color workgroup printers to its Infoprint* 1000 family of Internet-ready solutions. The latest additions, the Infoprint Color 1220 and 1228, meet IBM's enterprise customers' demand for affordable color at speeds comparable to workgroup monochrome printers. Both printers offer competitive performance features such as color toner saving functions to reduce cost of ownership, innovative paper handling, finishing options such as automatic stapling, offset stacking, hole punching and the highest optional capacity input available on the market today, holding up to 5,300 pages. This announcement brings the total number of printers in the Infoprint 1000 portfolio to eight and introduces color offerings into the family. First unveiled in June 2001 with five monochrome workgroup solutions and another in November 2001, the Infoprint 1000 family is designed to help customers effectively manage the paper output of e-business and includes best-of-breed printers, software and services. Each model in the range features the ability to print a host of popular image files or URLs, channeling PDF or HTML files directly to the printer, quickly and easily, without using a printer driver or application.
