Oce Will Focus on Digital Production at IPEX

Press release from the issuing company

Poing, Germany, January 21, 2002 — Oce, a Dutch multinational and global leader in digital printing and document management technology, is one of the driving forces behind the PrintCity stand at IPEX from April 9-17. Digital production printing will be the cornerstone of Oce’s presence at the show, focusing on how customers can generate increased profits through advanced technology pioneered by the company. Oce will have a number of live demonstrations that will reinforce its position as a complete solutions provider for the graphic arts industry. One will involve using the company’s highly-acclaimed Oce Demandstream 8090 digital web press. The machine is managed by Oce-developed PRISMA software, part of the company’s world-leading capability in data and file format handling. The Oce Demandstream 8090 CX will be set up for two different applications. One will be for saddle stitched brochures and the other one is for perfect-bound paperback books. The brochures will also be produced on an Oce Demandstream 4040 as another demonstration of the company’s wide-ranging hardware and software capabilities. Oce’s high-profile will also be enhanced by setting up a digital “book store” that will be integrated into the PrintCity workflow. Oce’s revolutionary colour production system, known as the Oce CPS700, will have one of its first public showings in the UK on the PrintCity stand. Instead of having different colours of toner lying on top of one another, they are individually placed on to the surface of the printed material. The results mean consistent colour quality throughout the entire run, across all media. Mike Cornish, managing director of Oce (UK) Ltd, said: “IPEX is another defining moment in the long and proud history of Oce, an integrated solutions provider that is at the forefront of technology. We have some world-beating digital printing solutions on show and our competence in customer consulting and service will show how customers can generate higher profits through digital production printing.” “Oce’s commitment to the print industry is stronger than ever, as has been seen with many recent initiatives, including acquisitions of other companies.”
