Contex Introduces the New WIDEcapture Plug-In for Adobe Photoshop

Press release from the issuing company

January 22, 2002 - Contex Scanning Technology, the leading manufacturer of wide format color scanners and related productivity software, has introduced WIDEcapture, a new generation of Plug-In modules for Adobe Photoshop. Plug-ins, are software modules that enhance and extend creativity and productivity directly from within the application. WIDEcapture is designed to interface Contex Wide format scanners with Adobe's popular Photoshop application. WIDEcapture plug-in for Adobe Photoshop enables wide format scanning on the Window platforms and is also available for the Apple Macintosh platforms. Many of our customers have asked us for an easy way to integrate our scanning products directly into the Adobe Photoshop application. "Now, with our new WIDEcapture, users can seamlessly import images from their Contex scanner into the Photoshop image editor. You can then use Photoshop's wide range of image manipulation options, just as you had opened an image file from your hard disk. And the best part is, that it's free for users of Contex scanners", states Henrik Vestermark Sales & Marketing Director for Contex's U.S operation. WIDEcapture allows users to take advantage of the scanners advanced functionality and incorporate it with one of the industries most popular graphic applications. Now, users can scan their Black and White or Color originals, select paper size, scanning modes, color enhancement and image enhancements without interrupting their workflow. WIDEcapture simply installs itself as an Adobe Photoshop plug-in module, so it's directly available the next time Photoshop is started and supports all of Contex current 18 scanner models.
