Xerox Opens Interactive Digital Repository

Press release from the issuing company

HOT SPRINGS, Ark.-Jan. 15, 2002--Xerox today opened the doors to a 51,000-square-foot, online "interactive digital repository'' and imaging facility. A cornerstone of the recently launched Xerox Global Services, digital imaging services and related offerings are expected to grow significantly in 2002 due to increasing global interest in making corporate documents and content more easily accessible and secure in digital form. The new facility is capable of converting and managing massive amounts of business critical information and providing online access to data previously available in paper and various electronic formats. The location employs 275 people and is Xerox's primary site for converting, storing and uploading content of all types, including office documents, floor plans, invoices, contracts and a variety of digital file formats. The building has nearly three times more production space and network capacity than Xerox's prior Hot Springs facility. Client files will now be even more quickly digitized and uploaded to secure Internet or intranet sites, allowing companies such as Dow Chemical, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and McGraw-Hill high-speed access to the information they need to run their business. Speaking at today's opening ceremony, Tom Dolan, president, Xerox Global Services said, "Companies today are more focused on preserving and securing their information. With our expanded digital imaging and storage capabilities, our clients can maintain and access business-critical documents in Web-based content management systems instead of a warehouse of hard copy files.'' Xerox Global Services, formed in 2001, addresses the rapidly growing services market by helping clients improve their work and business processes to achieve better results. Xerox services include consulting, systems design and implementation, strategic outsourcing and process management. These services operate across a number of disciplines, such as knowledge and work practice management, content management and publishing and output management.
