Agenda Set for 44th Annual R&E Council Bindery Seminar

White Stone, VA, January 14, 2002—The Research & Engineering Council of the Graphic Arts Industry has announced that its 44th annual Bindery, Finishing and Distribution Seminar will be held April 30 and May 1, 2002, at the O’Hare Marriott Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. The theme of the meeting will be It’s About Time...Optimizing Efficiency to Reduce Costs in the Bindery. The annual R&E Council Bindery seminar is widely seen as the preeminent technical meeting in the postpress segment of the printing industry. Chaired by Charles L. Dine, vice president of the R&E Council and manager of corporate industrial engineering for Banta Corporation, the meeting will feature speakers representing printers, trade binders, publishers, manufacturers, educators, and consultants, and will focus on both mechanical and digital productivity solutions of particular interest to companies in the printing industry. In addition, printers and equipment vendors will detail the latest in binding and finishing techniques for both sheetfed and web printers, as well as trade binders and finishers. The 2002 R&E Council Bindery, Finishing and Distribution seminar is of particular interest to senior and middle managers at printers, trade binders and publishers who seek one single conference at which to address the latest in postpress technologies and operating techniques, including personnel issues in today’s diverse workplace.
