Georgia-Pacific Expects Fourth Quarter 2001 Income Above Estimates

ATLANTA, Jan. 10 - Georgia-Pacific Corp. said that it expects fourth quarter 2001 income of approximately 15 cents per share. The current First Call consensus estimate for Georgia-Pacific is a loss of 6 cents per share. The company said its fourth quarter 2001 results were positively impacted by strong performance in its consumer products segment as well as successful cost control actions across all of its businesses. Georgia-Pacific's full fourth quarter and year-end 2001 earnings report is scheduled for release Jan. 24, 2002, prior to market opening.
