Press release from the issuing company

XEScan Solution is a dedicated scanning system for simple digital conversion of legacy documents STAMFORD, Conn.--Jan. 9, 2002-- Xerox Engineering Systems (XES) announced a cutting-edge monochrome scan-to-file system that delivers unmatched image quality - the XEScan Solution. This new system provides a dedicated scan-to-file and walk-up scan-to-email solution to easily save and transmit wide-format technical documents. Once scanned to file, documents are accessible to be printed on any wide-format network printer. The XEScan Solution is expressly developed for scanning engineering documents, such as aerials, GIS maps, blueprints and CAD line art. It offers automatic filters or modes that optimize quality for difficult originals, enhancing scanned images to make them look even better than the originals. "The XEScan Solution is an intuitive system that offers customers a flexible and easy-to-use scanner with the added benefit of unparalleled image quality,'' said Marc Neiss, Director of Technical Document Solutions, XES. "Users will also experience dramatic time savings with this solution because of its dedicated scan-to-file and walk-up scan-to-email functions, making it easy to save and digitally transmit any wide-format document.'' In addition to its leading imaging technology, the XEScan Solution was created with a unique user interface that offers four user definable preset keys. These keys optimize the scanning process to a one-touch operation. They can be configured for items such as batch mode, filter definitions, output resolution, file format and background suppression, ensuring fast and efficient scanning with every job.
