The newly-formed Enovation Graphic Systems made the following appointments. They have named Michael E. Borne Director of Business Development. In his new position, Borne will work with manufacturers and Enovation management to develop programs and strategies to meet sales goals for all traditional prepress and pressroom products. Prior to this appointment, Borne held a similar position at PrimeSource Corporation as director of business development. A 30-year veteran of the printing and publishing industry, Borne began his career in the graphic arts distribution business at Phillips & Jacobs where he held numerous sales and management positions, including branch manager for the Lancaster, Pa. location as well as vice president of sales and president of Phillips & Jacobs, North. When P&J became part of PrimeSource Corporation in 1996, Borne served as director of pressroom until January 2001. "Mike’s experience in all aspects of the graphic arts distribution business makes him a perfect fit for this position," said Daniel C. Maffeo, executive vice president of Enovation. "His proven ability to understand what it takes to work with manufacturers to achieve business objectives and sales goals will be a great asset to Enovation." Phil Kane is now Director of Business Development, Electronic Imaging. In this new position, Kane will work closely with manufacturers and Enovation management to develop programs and strategies to meet sales goals for electronic products. Kane will report to Daniel C. Maffeo, executive vice president of Enovation, who states that Kane’s strong electronics background and dedication to the printing industry makes him an important addition to the company. "Years of experience in capital equipment sales and proven sales leadership have earned Phil a position of respect in the business," notes Maffeo. "We’re enthused about adding someone of his caliber to our growing team of managers at Enovation." Previously, Kane was national sales manager for Canopy, LLC, a joint-venture company formerly owned by PrimeSource Corporation and Xeikon, in which he was involved in the sales and support of Xeikon Digital Color Printing Systems. Prior to that position he was vice president of sales for Screen USA, sales manager for Phillips & Jacobs (which became part of PrimeSource in 1994), and vice president of sales for Howson Algraphy, until its purchase by DuPont in 1989, at which time he was appointed business manager for the Northeast. Robert J. Kurelic is now director of national account sales. Prior to this appointment, Kurelic served in a similar capacity with PrimeSource Corporation as director of national account sales. A 30-year veteran of the printing and publishing industry, Kurelic began his career with Arco Products. He later joined Acti Camera and held interest in a commercial printing company in Houston, before joining Phillips & Jacobs in 1979. During his tenure at P&J, Kurelic held various sales, and marketing and management positions, including branch manager for the Pennsauken, N.J. location, eastern region sales manager, electronics business director, national accounts sales and management, and director of marketing and product development. He also served as vice president of P&J, North from 1996 to 1997, at which time the company merged with six other graphic arts supply distributors to become PrimeSource. "Bob has been instrumental in developing a strong national accounts team that’s totally focused on this part of the business for PrimeSource," says Daniel C. Maffeo, executive vice president of Enovation. "His strong leadership and proven sales success will be an important factor in maintaining our current presence and attracting new multi-location companies to Enovation.
