httprint and Emmperative Align to Offer Complete Solutions for Global 1000 Firms

Press release from the issuing company

SAN FRANCISCO - January 2, 2002 - httprint announced today that it has formed a strategic alliance with Emmperative, the leading provider of enterprise marketing management (EMM) software and services. The companies will jointly market their print production and enterprise marketing management solutions to global 1000 companies that want to improve their go-to-market processes and immediately reduce costs and time-to-market through print management, collaboration, and procurement. Large corporations spend approximately two to three percent of their revenue on commercially printed materials such as brochures, promotional materials, direct mail, business cards, stationary and annual reports.1 By integrating the print management and EMM technology platforms, organizations can realize tremendous cost savings - up to 40 percent - and efficiencies, and increase speed to market. The strategic alliance is designed to help corporations realize these savings. Founded in collaboration by worldwide marketing leader Procter & Gamble, Emmperative empowers multi-functional teams to deliver better products and initiatives to market faster and more cost-effectively. In addition to Procter & Gamble, current clients include Philips Electronics, the Coca-Cola Company and Standard Chartered Bank. Together, Emmperative and httprint will enable customers to leverage their integrated solution to aggregate print purchasing, collaborate with vendors, streamline the print management process, and centralize knowledge and brand assets. "Many of our customers are already using our technology to support the back-end of their in-house marketing and creative campaigns," said Mark Porter, CEO, httprint. "We chose to partner with Emmperative because their functionality complements our own and enables us to offer a more complete marketing management solution to our collective customers." "Print procurement is a big spend category for enterprise marketing departments," said Dan Maurer, CEO, Emmperative. "httprint is enabling us to respond to our customers' requests for a total solution that will help them better manage the marketing process - from concept to design to layout to production - and drive costs out of the print supply chain." Emmperative and httprint will release their integrated solution in the latter half of Q1 2002. The first corporate customer slated to benefit from the alliance is a global enterprise leader in the electronics industry. Emmperative and httprint will offer the company a single e-commerce solution for all of its marketing management needs. The company will be able to access and utilize httprint's Digital Asset Management (D.A.M.) tools directly from Emmperative to catalog and print its marketing materials, while also gaining the ability to outsource projects, including estimating and budgeting and supplier management processes, to httprint's campaign management team. "Emmperative is setting the standard in the emerging enterprise marketing management space much as httprint has done with print procurement," added Porter. "Both companies share a commitment to establishing best practices and cost savings across the enterprise."
