DECEMBER 2001 – Enovation Graphic Systems, a distributor of equipment, consumables and technical services to the graphic communications industry, continues to fill its executive offices. Steve Gryder has been named Regional Vice President – Central. Jim Purcell has accepted the position of Regional Vice President – Midwest. John Solwold was appointed Regional Vice President – West. Lastly, Jon D. Wright takes his post as Regional Vice President – East. In this capacity, all four appointees will report to Daniel C. Maffeo, executive vice president of Enovation. The newly-formed company represents more than 500 suppliers at more than 60 branch locations throughout the country. "Their combined experience and talent is unsurpassed in our business and I feel confident they will make substantial contributions toward reaching Enovation’s goal of providing our customers with the best possible products, service and support." With a career that spans more than 25 years in the graphic arts business, Gryder most recently held the position of president and chief operating officer for Heartland Imaging Company of Kansas City, Kan. During his tenure, the company grew to become one of the largest distributors in the United States, with 22 locations. Purcell is a 25-year veteran of the printing industry who has held financial, operations and management positions for the same graphic arts distribution company, which operated under different ownerships, starting with Jetcom in 1976, Phillips & Jacobs in 1993, and, most recently, PrimeSource Corporation from 1997 to 2000, where he served as group vice president of the Eastern Region. Prior to his recent appointment, Solwold served as business director for PrimeSource’s Northeast Region. He has held a number of other management positions in the graphic distribution business in his 18-year career, including regional manager for Taussig Graphic Supply and branch manager for Momentum Corporation, before it became a PrimeSource company in 1997. Wright began his career in the printing ink business. In 1973, he founded and became president of Graphic Systems, Inc. (GSI), a position he maintained until his recent appointment with Enovation.  At the time of the sale to Enovation Graphic Systems, GSI was one of the largest dealers in the nation offering a full line of supplies from all major manufacturers.
