Canon Europa Signs Deal With EFI to Sell Velocity Workflow Solutions

Press release from the issuing company

FOSTER CITY, Calif.--Dec. 5, 2001--Canon Europa has completed an agreement with Electronics For Imaging (EFI) to sell its innovative new range of Velocity Balance(TM) workflow software, providing Canon with a mid-to-high volume workflow solution. Using Dynamic PPD technology, Velocity Balance 2.0 software self-configures to distribute print jobs among up to 10 print engines, automatically redirecting work when a printer error occurs or splitting jobs between color and black and white printers. Printers of varying speeds can easily be linked as the Dynamic PPD technology supports a wide range of devices driven by EFI controller technology. Additional new features include color matching across different engines and job submission through hot folders. Canon Europa will also offer EFI's three additional Velocity workflow modules -- Velocity Scan(TM), Velocity Build(TM) and Velocity Estimate(TM) -- which enhance productivity and efficiency in other print workflow processes from scanning of paper originals to document preparation and job costing capabilities.
