MAN Roland Sets Priorities, Plant Expansion in Offenbach Delayed

Press release from the issuing company

Plans for the Südwerk plant expansion in Offenbach are now on track: “The Südwerk investment project, totaling EUR 50 million, is presently being planned to completion until contracts are ready to be awarded,” says Dr. Rainer Opferkuch, MAN Roland Group board member responsible for the business sector sheet-fed presses.   “Construction approval itself will be put off for a few months. Current economic developments mean management will have to concentrate on the current challenges in the market. Instead of creating additional burdens we want to consolidate energies and set priorities.”   With the new expansion on the Südwerk grounds, MAN Roland will concentrate production of all press series as well as assembly of the ROLAND 700 sheet-fed offset series in Plant 2 on Mühlheimer street. Shorter production paths will simplify and accelerate manufacturing and project handling in order to further enhance the competitive edge of the world's second-largest manufacturer of printing systems.
