Xitron Announces Support for HP 5000, New Interface Supports 6 Colors

Press release from the issuing company

Ann Arbor, MI - November 26, 2001 -- Xitron, an independent developer and integrator of Raster Image Processors, announced today the release of a new plugin driving both 42 and 60 inch versions of the Hewlett Packard DesignJet 5000 inkjet proofer. The plugin drives the HP 5000 DesignJet proofers at high speed and supports all 6 ink colors. ICC Color Profiles for selected papers are included with the RIP software for accurate out-of-the-box color management. The HP 5000 can be driven via a network interface or a fast parallel connection to the RIP Platform. The Xitron HP 5000 plugin can be added to an existing PC (Windows NT or Win 2k) or Macintosh (System 8.6 or 9) version of the Xitron Navigator RIP driving a final out put device, or run on a stand-alone Navigator XPR (Xitron Proofer RIP) on either platform. Xitron Navigator is based on the Global Graphics Harlequin RIP. "We are very pleased to add support for the HP DesignJet 5000 to our already extensive line of supported proofing devices" explains R. Patrick French, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Furthermore, our customers really appreciate the benefits of driving multiple devices from one RIP ensuring data integrity!"
