Initially seen at Label Expo Europe, AVT's demonstrated new systems include: o PrintVision/Genesis running on Italian company GI Due's new S-COMBAT 280 press, the first standardized press in the narrow-web market. The AVT system was tailored with specific applications for narrow-web presses. o PrintVision/Apollo on Flytec GmbH's rewinder (Germany). This solution was developed for quality assurance workflow on rewinders with a full-color camera that makes the system the leader in 100% color inspection solutions. With space often a critical factor in rewind operations, the PrintVision/Apollo mounts without increasing the rewinder footprint. o PrintVision/Apollo installed by RAKO-Etiketten GmbH & Co KG, Germany's leading label printer, on its newly developed LeoMat S rewinder. AVT's introduction of these new solutions reflects the company's strategy to develop automatic inspection solutions for various printing applications. Labels represent a worldwide target market for AVT. The new solutions just introduced in Europe are based on the extensive experience that AVT has garnered from other printing applications, along with special features and capabilities incorporated in the systems to meet the specific needs of the label market. AVT’s PrintVision solutions use machine vision technology to sample the running web and compare it to ‘good copy’ masters stored in the memory during start-up. Press operators can set independent tolerance parameters for process faults including color variations, spots, streaks, register and mis-prints. When these tolerances are exceeded, visual and or audio alarms are activated. The instant alert feature enables operators to confidently leave the control console to check on other facets of press performance during the run. PrintVision Solutions AVT's PrintVision solutions provide both ‘eyes’ and a ‘brain’ to see and interpret the printed images on the web. This constant monitoring means that print quality is assured and standards are consistently maintained throughout a press run. This virtually eliminates job rejects and greatly reduces waste. PrintVision/Genesis is the narrower web solution designed for presses with web widths up to 1500 mm. A fully functional system, it is available in single- or dual-monitor versions, making it ideal for use where pressroom space is at a premium. Designed for use on rewinders, the PrintVision/Apollo marks and classifies all quality defects, detects random faults, and reduces waste and customer rejections.
