2002 International Packaging Technology Forum Set

Press release from the issuing company

From 21 through 31 January 2002, the PrintCity partners Agfa and MAN Roland will be informing international customers and other interested companies engaged in packaging about the state of the technology. Talks and live product demonstrations will be given at the MAN Roland Graphic Center in Offenbach. The presentations will cover current structures and trends in the packaging market, Agfa's most recent digital prepress solutions, and MAN Roland's latest applications in packaging printing. At the CtP Technology Centre, Agfa will show the optimum workflow combination for computer-to-plate in packaging printing, using Apogee PrintDrive and Nexus from Artwork Systems. Besides various proofing equipment, the digital plate imaging systems will be focussed on: Agfa Galileo for semi and medium sizes as well as - brand new - Agfa Xcalibur for the large size. MAN Roland will demonstrate packaging workflow as done in a networked printing plant using PECOM, the future-oriented system of process electronics. It will further present new and interesting solutions with DICOpack in digital packaging printing. Modular ROLAND 500, ROLAND 700 and ROLAND 900 presses for packaging printing will produce high-quality sheet-offset on substrates of very different types, working from difficult printing forms for label and folding-carton applications. As participants of an in-house exhibition during the Technology Forum, PrintCity and "best-in-class" partners will provide insight into full-scale workflow. It is safe to predict that this pooled competence of the packaging and supplying industry will not leave any question unanswered.
