JWT's Selfridge Elected to Xinet Users Group Board

Press release from the issuing company

September 26, 2008 - New York, NY - Laura Selfridge, Global Operations Director for advertising agency JWT, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Xinet Users Group (XUG). XUG is a worldwide organization serving the users of workflow and digital asset management software developed by Xinet, Inc., of Berkeley, California.

Working from JWT offices in both New York and Paris, Laura plays a critical role in evaluating, selecting, and continually improving technologies for seamless job collaboration and exchange between the agency and one of JWT's well-known clients. Some of the world's largest and most prestigious brands appear on JWT's client roster, including Rolex, Diageo, HSBC, jetBlue, Microsoft, Royal Caribbean and Kimberly-Clark. JWT, a member of the WPP Group, is one of the oldest and largest brand communications companies in the world.

"I was introduced to the Xinet suite of products when working with a supplier on the technical needs of a global client in 2002. When I came to JWT and later took on the studio director position in 2006, I realized the technology infrastructure needed a big upgrade in order for us to expand our business offering and continue to be a reliable resource for our clients. After looking around at various options, the company eventually became a Xinet user. Over time I've realized that it takes a lot of collaboration and consultation with our integrator and others to get the most out of our investment. That realization helped pave the way for my involvement in the Xinet Users Group," says Selfridge.

Quebecor World Premedia's Vice President of Business Development and XUG's President, Scott Pellicone, said, "Laura Selfridge brings important new insights and experiences to the XUG Board of Directors. As our membership continues to grow and diversify, we're finding an increasing demand to assist users not only on the server side but also on the client side, at all levels of expertise. The very nature of the Xinet WebNative suite is to bring server and client closer together, and there are important activities our group can initiate to help make that connection as smooth and productive as possible."

"I think there should be a voice for those involved with Xinet installations who aren't technical experts," Selfridge says. "I'm still finding my way around the technology, myself, and know that people can get overwhelmed not only with a new installation but also, later on, with how to get from Xinet 101 to more complex automation. An active users group can be a valuable resource for them. Hand holding of newer users is important. I'm looking forward to providing a voice for those people."
