Minneapolis, MN and Atlanta, GA - Atlanta-based CFC Print Solutions and Minneapolis-based Four51 announced today that the companies have successfully completed their initial XML interoperability initiatives and are now passing complete order data and associated artwork from Four51 directly into CFC’s internal production environments with no manual intervention. CFC and Four51 have been collaborating on XML initiatives since March of this year. “Our XML initiatives with Four51 are part of a larger strategic vision for CFC Print Solutions,” said Bob Saunders, CFC’s vice president of sales. “By investing in XML, we’re promoting a standards-based approach to driving more efficiencies into our production processes and lowering our overall costs, not just with orders coming to us via Four51, but for any order coming to us from any XML-compliant system.” To become XML-ready, CFC developed an XML management system designed to send and receive XML data from Four51’s WildFireSM XML management system. The company is now leveraging two of Four51’s WildFire XML web services. The WildFire Order Request with AttachmentsSM web service enables CFC to receive inbound order data and artwork from their distributors and pass that data and artwork directly into their production environment. The WildFire Ship NoticeSM web service then enables CFC to complete their orders inside their production environment, automatically notify Four51 via XML, and send order shipping and tracking information directly to the distributor and the end-user with no manual intervention. “The order management and production workflow CFC is now enabling via XML is precisely the kind of efficient workflow we envision between Four51 and XML-compliant systems,” said Mark Osborn, Four51’s vice president of marketing. “Now, CFC can receive 100% of their orders from Four51-enabled distributors via XML without even looking at their Four51 interface.” CFC Print Solutions is a Four51 Strategic Supplier Alliance Partner, and the two companies have been working together on various technology, sales, and marketing initiatives for more than a year. The two companies already have plans to develop and deploy additional XML-based web services designed to improve workflow, lower cost, and drive value-add back to distributors even further.
