CreoScitex: Staccato Screening Software Improves Presswork Quality

Press release from the issuing company

BEDFORD, MA -- November 13, 2001 -- CreoScitex, a division of Creo Products Inc., announces the finest stochastic screening available through the use of 10-micron Staccato(tm) Stochastic (FM) Screening software. Stochastic screening is a digital screening process that converts images into very small dots of equal size and variable spacing. These tiny dots are more efficient at absorbing and reflecting light and produce a larger gamut than AM screens. It is the award-winning CreoScitex SQUAREspot(tm) thermal imaging heads with the 10-micron Staccato FM screening software that makes this fine screening possible. Staccato screening software improves presswork quality, delivers more accurate color and brings more consistency to presswork. It resolves fine image detail in presswork and eliminates halftone rosette patterns and screening moire. By improving the quality of printing with high detail rendering, cleaner looking colors, and smoother flat tints, the resulting presswork looks sharper and more detailed. Staccato screening software also optimizes image reproduction, even on lower grades of paper, saving on production costs and increasing profitability, but not compromising job quality. The continuous-tone quality maximizes the efficiencies of the 6-color printing process. It also eliminates the need for most spot colors, which further reduces production costs.
