Software Gives Mac Users Better File Access

Press release from the issuing company

Arlington, VA - November 7, 2001 - Group Logic announced today that the Charlotte Observer daily newspaper in Charlotte, NC (circulation 243,000) uses ExtremeZ-IP software to achieve four to six times the throughput they formerly experienced between Macintosh clients and a Windows NT file server. Approximately 60 simultaneous users access the advertising department's file server, according to Steve Gilbert, Production Systems Manager at the Observer. "When we were relying on the Services for Macintosh utility built into Windows, users experienced significant slow-downs when using the server," Gilbert said.
