Quality Graphics Center Adds Prediction Proofing System

Wednesday, November 07, 2001

Press release from the issuing company

ROSELLE, NJ, November 6, 2001 – Quality Graphics Center, Inc., a 45-year old family-owned commercial printer specializing in top-quality color work for leading advertising agencies and graphic design firms in the New York City metro area, has introduced the Prediction Automatic Digital Halftone Proofing System into its workflow. The Prediction system provides high productivity capabilities to automatically produce accurate 6-color digital PANTONE Hexachrome, as well as metallic and spot color proofs. The new system joins the printer's PolaProof 2230 Imager Gold digital halftone proofing system already in place. Both are products of Polaroid Graphics Imaging LLC (PGI). Darren Yeats, General Manager of Quality Graphics Center, Inc., noted, "Both PGI systems easily integrated into our Agfa Apogee PrintDrive workflow and into our Galileo CTP system, and now we have the ideal proofing solution. The fully automated Prediction handles the bulk of our high-quality digital contract proofing, and the PolaProof 2230 does oversize work with pages larger than 8_ x 11. On both we use PGI's GRACoL and Hexachrome color sets as well as the orange and green separately for spot colors. Our customers love the consistent, excellent match to press and speed of signoffs. They walk in, see that the press sheet completely matches the proof, then sign it and go back to work, or home early." In addition to the Prediction Automatic Digital Halftone Proofing System and the PolaProof 2230 Imager Gold Digital Halftone Proofing System, PGI's highly successful product line also includes the PolaProof 1420 Imager Gold Digital Halftone Proofing System. The systems deliver high-resolution, realistic proofs that match the actual press sheet with unparalleled accuracy. The systems use patented Laser Ablation Transfer (LAT) technology to transfer pigmented printing inks by directly imaging or transferring to actual printing stocks. With its ease of use and wide selection of industry standard color sets including metallics, spot colors and opaque white, the Prediction and PolaProof are the quality proofing standards in the digital halftone proofing market.
