Danka Chosen as Preferred Supplier for Philips Electronics North America

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.--Nov. 6, 2001--Danka Business Systems PLC today announced an agreement with Philips Electronics North America Corporation, a unit of Royal Philips Electronics of the Netherlands, a global leader in consumer electronics, lighting, domestic appliances and personal care products, medical equipment, semiconductors and components. While the financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, Danka Office Imaging will be the preferred supplier for copiers, facsimile machines, related services and consumables for Philips locations in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Philips employees will be able to access a co-sponsored Danka/Philips Internet site to obtain information on equipment features and pricing. In addition, local Danka office personnel will work directly with the staff at Philips offices to create customized solutions that meet each facility's needs. "Philips selected us as much for our service and support as for our broad portfolio of office equipment,'' said Todd Mavis, President and Chief Operating Officer for Danka's U.S. Office Imaging Strategic Business Unit. "We will work together with Philips personnel to design office imaging solutions that provide enhanced efficiency. We will also help the company migrate to a digital environment, which will improve its document production and communications capabilities.'' "We entered into this agreement with Danka because we believe they offered us the best solution to enable us to produce and share documents more effectively, at the lowest total cost,'' said George Chen, Director, NPR Purchasing for Philips Electronics North America. "In addition, Danka has demonstrated that it has outstanding capabilities in the areas of system design and digital service and support.'' Over the last several years, Danka has laid a strong foundation for supporting digital platforms with its Digital Solutions Center,specialized "hands on'' training programs for field sales and technical support staffs and round-the-clock customer support centers. Danka also allows customers to maximize their investment by enabling printing and publishing solutions to handle many different types of jobstreams, thanks to its DankaWare(TM) solutions. These solutions marry industry standard printing platforms with specialized software to make customers' workflows more efficient.
