Polestar Sheffield Wins Two ERA Awards

Press release from the issuing company

(September 24, 2008) Polestar Sheffield has had its position as one of Europe’s leading gravure printers acknowledged by its peers, as it has won two major production awards at the European Rotogravure Association’s annual conference.

For its production of Seven for Telegraph Media Group, the company won the top award for a magazine printed on improved newsprint, also winning the highest award for printing on LWC stock for the production of the RSPB catalogue.

Jeff White, Account Director at Polestar Sheffield, accepted the awards at the event this week. He says: “Less than four years ago, Polestar was laying the foundations of the new gravure supersite that is Polestar Sheffield. Now, only three years later, we are building again, but this time we are building a reputation for print quality that is second to none.”

He continues: “These awards are truly a team effort and could only be achieved by utilising the highest standards of technical expertise of the production and manufacturing teams at Polestar Sheffield, coupled with the outstanding continual support that we have enjoyed from our clients, for whom we continually strive to maintain and improve our service and quality.”

Paul Brady, Printing Direct of the Telegraph Media Group, adds: “TMG is delighted Polestar has received such a prestigious award from the ERA in recognition of their hard work and commitment to continuous improvement in Sheffield. It also underlines the fact that the UK Gravure industry is as proficient as any of its European counterparts in producing high volume weekly supplements.”
