Epson to Launch Double-Sided Matte Paper

Press release from the issuing company

LONG BEACH, Calif.--Nov. 1, 2001--Epson America Inc., creator of high-quality, award-winning digital imaging products, is introducing a double-sided matte paper designed for both professional and amateur users who need high-end imaging in a two-sided format. Addressing the requirements for photo portfolios as well as two-sided business newsletter and brochure applications, EPSON Double-Sided Matte Paper offers a highly opaque, flat matte finish with the same lightfast coating on both sides as the extremely popular EPSON Matte Paper Heavyweight. The new paper's two-sided capability, photographic quality and superior text output make it a versatile addition to Epson's full line of quality ink jet media, while its 47 lb. weight gives it a professional feel. "There is a considerable market for such a robust double-sided paper that does not sacrifice opacity or image quality,'' said Paul Lukacs, assistant product manager, Professional Graphics Supplies. "Epson has always focused on the strict standards of image quality. Now the ability to offer our customers the versatility of two-sided printing adds a new dimension in both professional looking output and value.'' Positioned for both the photographic as well as the SOHO markets, EPSON Double-Sided Matte Paper is equally compatible with Epson's full line of desktop printers and its higher end professional models. "This product will address the needs of a variety of applications for a variety of users ranging from photographers to business professionals to home users,'' Lukacs said. EPSON Double-Sided Matte Paper will be available in mid-November through computer superstores and specialty retail stores nationwide, mail order and the Internet, including Epson's Web site. The estimated street price for a 20-sheet package of letter size paper will be $17.95.
