Fusion CPS Software RIP Solution Now Available on Sun Solaris 8

Press release from the issuing company

Portland, OR - October 31, 2001 -- Fusion Systems International, an independent developer of Unix based Harlequin raster image management and workflow solutions announced today the release of Fusion CPS color print server for Sun Microsystems' Solaris 8 operating system. Fusion CPS is a software RIP solution design to provide extremely fast postscript file processing and color management solution for output to a broad range of wide format color plotters and proofing devices. Color proofing devices supported include the complete line of HP DesignJet plotters, including the 5000 series, and all Epson Stylus Pro plotters and professional color proofers. Fusion CPS is an efficient, low cost, accurate color proofing solution that combines a Unix PostScript Level 3 RIP, Harlequin ICC Profile Processors™ (HIPP), and five levels of Harlequin Dispersed Screening for a complete proofing package. Fusion CPS is powerful enough to directly drive multiple plotters simultaneously with the key advantage of having only one RIP to maintain, including all ICC Color Management set-ups. Plotters and smaller format color proofers receive raster data over standard TCP/IP ethernet network interfaces enabling a single Fusion CPS RIP to drive multiple proofing devices. Up to four wide format plotters can be supported simultaneously. Rapid processing of PostScript, PDF, PDF-X, TIFF, EPS, DCS and optionally TIFF-IT file formats is supported. Fusion CPS can easily be layered on to an existing SUN server or economically installed on a new Sun Blade 100 workstation. Additionally, both IRIX and Solaris Fusion CPS systems can, at any time, be upgraded to scalable, high resolution Fusion DFE digital front-end solution for driving film and plate imaging devices as well. Fusion Systems International, a division of LDR International Inc. of Portland, Oregon, manufactures Fusion DFE Digital Front-end and Fusion CPS Color Print Server raster image processing software. Fusion Systems International is committed to providing and producing leading edge technology for the graphic arts industry. The Fusion DFE Fusion CPS products are distributed internationally through a network of authorized value-added systems integrators. Additional product information is available at www.fusiondfe.com.
