The market success of the system, which combines a high-resolution camera back from JENOPTIK with professional workflow-oriented software from Heidelberg, has encouraged both companies to push ahead with the next generation of digital image capture systems and to utilize existing development potential. Heidelberg brings to the partnership both its comprehensive printing know-how and future developments of its Linocolor Cam software which has been geared to the needs of digital photography. JENOPTIK's new hardware will be developed with the Linocolor Cam software in mind – a fact which will help speed up soft-ware and hardware innovations.
