Xerox Expands High-end Digital Portfolio With DocuTech and DocuPrint 90

Press release from the issuing company

ORLANDO, Fla.--Oct. 30, 2001-- Extending its leadership in the monochrome production printing market, Xerox Corporation today announced two new cut-sheet digital printers for print shops, service bureaus and data centers that need quicker, easier ways to create on-demand and personalized documents. The DocuTech 90 and DocuPrint 90, with print speeds up to 90 pages-per-minute and high-quality 600 dots-per-inch resolution (600 x 1200 dpi PostScript), are the fastest of the small, entry-level Xerox production printers. With print production environments continually calling for more powerful, higher speed equipment, the DocuTech 90 and DocuPrint 90 meet the needs of space-constrained print operations looking for affordable ways to capture additional pages from printing on-demand applications such as books, manuals and brochures. The Xerox DocuPrint 90 gives data centers and service bureaus the power to print transaction applications that require merged variable data for mission-critical documents such as bills and invoices. Both products are being demonstrated this week at Xplor in Orlando, a trade show for document technology users. "We're providing our customers with more options for on-demand printing by expanding what is already the industry's broadest line of monochrome production printers,'' said Tom Wetjen, vice president and general manager, Xerox Monochrome Business Unit. "Powered by our renowned DocuTech/DocuPrint technology, these new products offer additional capabilities to small and mid-sized print operations.'' The Xerox DocuPrint/DocuTech cut-sheet family now includes 14 digital printing products, ranging from 75 to180 pages per minute and served by the Xerox DocuSP common controller. The DocuTech 90 and DocuPrint 90 are immediately available in North America through the Xerox sales force and in Europe in the first quarter 2002. The U.S. base list price for the DocuPrint/DocuTech 90 begins at $64,995.
