CreoScitex Announces Beta Release of Multi-Cassette Unit for Lotem 800

Press release from the issuing company

BEDFORD, MA -- October 25, 2001 -- CreoScitex, a division of Creo Products Inc. announces the beta release of the labor-saving Multi-Cassette Unit for the Lotem(tm) 800 line of thermal platesetters. The Multi-Cassette Unit is designed for extended periods of unattended plate production. A total of 500 plates with interleaf can be loaded into five cassettes, each holding up to 100 plates of a specific size and thickness. With this enormous capacity, the Multi-Cassette Unit supplies plates for continuous production across multiple shifts. The correct cassette is automatically selected according to a pre-defined plate size for the job and automatically loads the platesetter. Reloading the cassettes is easy because they are positioned at a comfortable, ergonomic height. Cassettes can also be reloaded while the platesetter is operating. "The Multi-Cassette Unit makes these platesetters unbeatable," says Nir Armoni, Product Manager for 8-page CTP devices. "With the most advanced automation on the market, the Lotem 800 platesetters offer a choice of loading cassette configurations, in-line punch, and slip-sheet removal. They deliver the highest throughput, and feature advanced options, such as Spectrum digital halftone proofing. The top-of-the-line Lotem(tm) 800 Quantum platesetter leverages the unique advantages of the SQUAREspot(tm) thermal imaging head, which enables consistent and reliable FM screening. It also features automatic temperature compensation to ensure machine-to-machine repeatability and perfect on-press registration even under varying ambient temperature conditions.
