Insight Graphics Introduces Foil Coordinator Software

Wednesday, September 24, 2008

Press release from the issuing company

Scotland (September 23, 2008) Insight Graphics announced the introduction of their new foil saving software, Foil Co Ordinator.  Insight Graphics is the developer and the manufacturer of the Die Co-Ordinator, Digital Assistant, Print Lock as well as the Foil Co Ordinator.  The products are represented in Europe by the Gietz organization out of Switzerland and in North America by Sterling Toggle, Inc.

The Foil Co-Ordinator is the revolutionary digital alternative to accurately calculating all your foil requirements.  You save money by reducing the amount of wasted excess foil you order.  You reduce press make ready and foil changeover.  The Foil Co-Ordinator gives you the opportunity to extend digital work flow beyond the print barrier through to foil stamping.  Use the foil stamping separations from the existing work flow to create foil area sets that allow accurate ordering of material at prepress before the job has even been printed.

The software automatically calculates:

material requirements
foil pull program for the press
foil changeover run length
foil reel shaft positions for each drive

Exact foil areas automatically calculated from PDF's means that there is no need for manual measurement, saving time and simplifying the foil calculating process. Contour mapping automatically optimizes foil for irregular shapes.

Alternative Models Include:

Normal foil direction
(optimized for foil)
Transverse Foil Diretion
(optimized for foil)
Normal Foil Direction
(optimized for constant pull to maximize press speed)
Transverse Foil Direction
(Optimized for constant pull to maximize press speed)

A structured, interactive training program using a sample of over 400 production jobs steps you through every aspect of Foil Co Ordinator.  It gives you tips  and techniques to optimize your foil calculation and material requirement methods.
