Top Partners Line Up with CreoScitex for Color Variable Print Program

Press release from the issuing company

BEDFORD, MA -- October 3, 2001 -- CreoScitex, a division of Creo Products Inc., announces the continuing success of its Variable Information partner program. By creating partnerships with leading vendors of variable information (VI) products, each with its own unique advantages, the program provides the broadest array of market-ready solutions for personalized data color printing. With a growing number of partner companies, some already active in the market and others currently in various stages of development, CreoScitex is expanding into new market segments with additional authoring tools and products. Under the current program, CreoScitex and its partners are co-developing and integrating color VI solutions based on CreoScitex Spire(tm) color servers, which support CreoScitex Variable Print Specification language. CreoScitex also provides comprehensive support for Xerox VIPP format and is very active in the development of the new PPML standard format. Exstream Software Inc. of Lexington, Kentucky and Elixir Technologies Corporation of Ventura, California recently completed their Variable Print Specification implementation with CreoScitex. They join other CreoScitex partners including Atlas, Document Sciences, GMC Software Technology Group, Pageflex, Printsoft, and XMPiE. "The response to our VI partner program has exceeded our expectations," says Ronen Cohen, General Manager, CreoScitex Print On-Demand Systems Group. "The growing number of companies interested in joining our program clearly reveals the unique nature of our partnerships. By sharing our knowledge of workflow and color, and actively promoting these solutions, CreoScitex enables its partners to achieve great success in the color VI printing market." New Partners Expand Variable Information Applications... CreoScitex is the leader in the color variable information revolution, opening up a wealth of opportunities for VI implementation in many areas from the graphic arts to the transactional markets. The innovative technology of CreoScitex and its VI partners enables the migration of black-and-white VI applications to color, and the development of innovative new applications. "As CreoScitex expands the possibilities of VI in a range of areas, from direct mailing campaigns and web-based applications to banking and CRM, our technology enables customers to open up their imagination to a world of creativity, previously never even dreamed possible," says Mr. Cohen. "The Spire color server ensures that this process is made as easy as any regular print job." CreoScitex Solution Architecture... The various authoring tools deliver unparalleled creation, data-handling and management capabilities for all personalized printing applications. To complement these tools, CreoScitex Variable Print Specification language provides a tried and tested vehicle to transfer the data efficiently to the production environment. The Spire server's ability to efficiently cache re-occurring objects is a crucial component in achieving full-color, high-volume, high-performance personalized printing. The servers also include workflow features such as on-the-fly imposition, color correction of variable jobs, and a powerful but easy to use interface to efficiently process VI jobs. CreoScitex supports its VI partners with workflow consultancy, testing tools and ongoing technical support to assure efficient variable information output. CreoScitex was demonstrating the Spire color server driving the Xerox DocuColor 2060 digital press at Print '01 and attendees could see the Spire driving both the DocuColor 2060 and Xerox's new digital production press at Xerox booth. The CreoScitex booth also served as a tour stop on PODi's Self-Guided PPML Tour at the show.
