UK Prepress House, Colour Systems Buys Ficelle from DALiM Software

Press release from the issuing company

DALiM Software announces the purchase of its web-based production workflow tracking application - FiCELLE - by leading London-based prepress company Colour Systems Limited. The system is set to become the largest single DALiM FiCELLE installation in the world to date. Simon Berg, Technical Director at Colour Systems, confirmed the purchase at the Print 01 exhibition held earlier this month in Chicago, USA. Berg comments "The DALiM FiCELLE application heralds a major advance in the way prepress, publishers and printers do business in the future. Our customers want to have a more immediate, collaborative method of working with us in the development of a publication from concept to printed page. Only FiCELLE offers the tools that we need to offer this, yet also offering complete integration with our existing prepress workflow systems." The FiCELLE application allows Colour Systems to offer real-time feedback on the progress of a publication's production via a standard web-browser based interface. It also allows job tracking and administration tasks associated with production to be handled in a more efficient and elegant fashion. Berg is enthusiastic in the enhanced service Colour Systems will be able to offer their publishing customers. Existing Colour Systems clients such as Reader‚s Digest, and Haymarket Publishing are very excited about the possibilities that FiCELLE opens up. Some of them have seen FiCELLE already and are, quite frankly, astonished at the level of automation and information that can be distributed from the system." The DALiM FiCELLE installation will be implemented by systems integrator Turning Point Technologies (TPT), exclusive UK DALiM Software distributor. Turning Point Technologies Senior Sales Executive David Mitchell comments "TPT has always been at the forefront of offering advanced productivity solutions and seamlessly integrating them with legacy systems. The installation at Colour Systems is a significant development in the acceptance of Internet-based production in the publishing industry." Carol Werle, DALiM Software Chief Executive Officer, says of the announcement, "FiCELLE offers web-based collaborative production for all participants in the graphic arts chain to a level that has never been seen before in a open systems environment. Forward-thinking companies such as Colour Systems can see that the FiCELLE concept is becoming more commonplace and are investing in the infrastructure today to consolidate the added-value services that they offer their customers in the future. We are proud to be associated with Colour Systems and are working closely with them in developing functionality to push FiCELLE even further ahead from any other solution in the industry today."
