Canon Singapore Embraces EFI Velocity Strategy

Press release from the issuing company

FOSTER CITY, Calif.--Oct. 2, 2001--Electronics For Imaging, the world leader in providing hardware and software imaging solutions for networked printers and copiers, announces a new distribution partnership with Canon Singapore for its new Velocity(TM) workflow software. In EFI's first distribution agreement in Asia Pacific, Canon Singapore will promote Velocity to high volume, multiple printer environments in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Hong Kong and Philippines. "The introduction of EFI's Velocity, together with Canon's CLC, GP and iR series copiers, this total workflow solution will provide high volume users, such as copy shops and corporate print departments, with top quality digital printing at increased speeds and productivity,'' said Canon Singapore Managing Director, Eiji Fukui. "This solution will not only help users to reduce their total cost of ownership but also to improve productivity by dedicating printing and merging to the most efficient output devices. It is a great pleasure for Canon to be able to co-promote Velocity with EFI as we work towards an excellent solution in the Asia region.'' EFI's Velocity software, first released in North America this spring, will be incorporated in Canon's high volume printing solution, controlling the cluster printing of up to ten multi-purpose high speed printing and copying devices. "Velocity maximizes the throughput of these high volume printers, giving users increased productivity as well as a consistent user interface that is modular and scalable,'' said Craig Saphin, senior director, Asia Pacific sales at EFI. "Velocity helps multi-engine environments perform at maximum efficiency.''
